Fitness class questions
What fitness classes do you offer?
We offer three small group fitness classes: Pure Strength for muscular strength, endurance, and tone; Total Body Conditioning, a faster-paced, boot-camp-style workout; and PowerFit with JumpBoard, which uses Pilates jumpboards for strength and cardio.
How many people are in each class?
Our fitness classes have a maximum of 8 clients per instructor. Keeping classes small lets your instructor watch your form closely and modify exercises for your level.
Are your fitness classes good for beginners?
Yes. Pure Strength is open to all levels, and we’ll help you find the right class for your goals. Total Body Conditioning and PowerFit with JumpBoard are best for intermediate to advanced clients. If you’re brand new, Pure Strength or a private session is a great place to start.
What is a jumpboard class?
A jumpboard is a padded board that attaches to the end of a Pilates reformer. You jump while lying on your back against the reformer’s spring resistance, which raises your heart rate and works your legs, glutes, and core with lower impact than jumping on the floor.
How often should I take strength classes?
The CDC recommends muscle-strengthening activity at least 2 days a week for adults. Two to three classes a week is a great goal for building strength and seeing steady progress.
Can I join if I’m coming back from an injury?
Yes. If you have an old or recent injury or physical limitation, private sessions are required for safety before joining a class. Your instructor will then recommend the right class for you.
Where is your studio located?
We are in San Carlos at 7434 Jackson Drive Suite B, San Diego, CA 92119, close to Del Cerro, La Mesa, Tierrasanta, and Allied Gardens.
