Reformer Pilates in San Diego

Build strength, improve flexibility, and move better with expert-led Reformer Pilates in small groups of six to eight. All levels welcome.

What is Reformer Pilates?

A full-body workout that’s challenging and low-impact

Reformer Pilates uses a spring-loaded machine to add adjustable resistance and support to every movement. That makes each exercise both more effective and more accessible than mat work, and it’s gentle on your joints. At Pure Power Pilates, every session is led on STOTT PILATES equipment by a certified instructor, so you build real strength safely, whatever your starting point.

Reformer Pilates questions

For most people, two to three sessions a week is the sweet spot for visible results in strength, posture, and mobility. Once a week maintains progress and is a good starting point while you build the habit. Because it’s low-impact, it’s safe to practice several times a week.

Yes. The reformer is fully adjustable and low-impact, so it suits every level. New clients start with a Private Intro Session or Pilates Fundamentals class to learn technique before joining a group, so you’re never thrown in at the deep end.

Mat Pilates uses your body weight on the floor. Reformer Pilates adds a spring-loaded machine that provides adjustable resistance and support, which makes exercises both more challenging and more accessible, and allows far more variety and personalization.

It can be. Reformer Pilates is low-impact and joint-friendly, and many physical therapists recommend it for building core strength, improving alignment, and supporting recovery. Always clear any injury with your doctor first, and tell your instructor so sessions can be modified for you.

Wear comfortable, fitted athletic clothing and bring grip socks. Everything else, including the reformer and all equipment, is provided at the studio.
